Vintage-inspired online fashion and accessories retailer ModCloth is streamlining its supply chain with a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) roll-out.

The fashion brand, which US retail giant Walmart sold almost a year ago to investment platform Go Global Retail, sells clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories for 18-35 year-olds and has helped raise fashion industry standards through size inclusion, anti-photoshopping policies, and female leadership.

As ModCloth continues to grow, it requires a flexible, powerful software to replace its current outdated programme, with an overall need for supply chain end-to-end visibility and 3D capabilities.

Despite the obstacles presented by Covid-19, the company has worked with Discover e-Solutions (DeSL) on the remote implementation of its PLM software suite.

Chris Schreiber, chief operating officer of ModCloth, cites "end-to-end visibility, integrating all functions for robust decisions, flexibility in terms of current and future processes (such as 3D), [and] simplicity of configuration in order to implement and pivot quickly," among the reasons for its selection. 

She adds: "The product development process can be cumbersome, but the tools to support it don't have to be; and in this case, the DeSL PLM tool will definitely reduce complexity."
