“Being able to look at all countries in one platform... is phenomenal”

Watch Epic Group’s CEO, Ranju Mahtani explain why he believes re:source gives apparel buyers and suppliers the tools to carry out sourcing reconnaissance without leaving their desk.

Video Transcript

My name is Ranju Mahtani and I am the CEO and chairman at Epic Group based out of Hong Kong.

Epic Group is a manufacturing company currently producing about 72 million garments a year for clients and well known brands all over the world.

re:source, in my opinion, is a unique platform. It's a very simple portal where we can do our initial reconnaissance on any new country that we want to venture into from a manufacturing standpoint.

Being able to look at all countries in one platform and looking at where we can get various duty concessions is phenomenal.

Well, we have tried to use different portals and different trade services to get trade intelligence and there are various portals where you could get the shipping information from each country, the average pricing.

But we would end up looking at eight or ten portals, talking to various government information services to get the information, where we feel your portal really has that quite done in a very nice macro manner - and if it's easy for me, it's going to be very easy for a lot of people.

Well, first of all, I would recommend it to people who are actually doing this business day in and day out, whether they're buyers or whether they're suppliers.

Some of our customers, every quarter, are asking for labour comparison rates across four or six countries and this is something that we could now be able to do in a much easier manner.

It's going to help me in my business, both day to day as well as to be strategizing my business, and therefore I would definitely recommend it to everybody because it's really going to help us to run our business in a better manner.
