Blaming a bra and a pair of knickers for a flood and road collapse in County Durham might seem a bit far-fetched, but not after you’ve read this story. In fact, I can’t think of many reasons why you’d even want to flush a bra and knickers down the toilet – surely not even our ridiculous refuse collection rules are to blame here – but needless to say, Northumbrian Water isn’t happy.
