  • A Gazipur garment factory has been fined for polluting the environment after Bangladesh’s Department of Environment visited Fakhruddin Textile Mills last month. During a hearing, the authorities at the facility pledged to take preventive measures. UNB
  • Gordon, a Serbian unit of Italian apparel company Calzedonia, has opened a factory in the northern Serbian town of Subotica. The firm plans to open two further factories in the nearby towns of Ruma and Apatin. SEE NEWS
  • Despite a noticeable increase in the number of factory registrations during the first nine months of the year, new job creation has declined, according to data from Thailand’s Ministry of Industry and Handicraft. 149 factories registered in the nine months to the end of September, representing a 21% increase.
