Checkpoint Systems has appointed Per Levin to the new role of president, merchandise visibility solutions, in an effort to tap into the growing demand for RFID applications.
Levin was previously president, shrink management and merchandise visibility solutions at the company, and is replaced in that position by Farrokh Abadi, currently chief innovation officer.
“I am confident that the talent and technology is now in place to win in this emerging business process,” said Rob van der Merwe, chairman, president and CEO of Checkpoint Systems.
Prasad Putta, co-founder of recent acquisition OATSystems and a leading RFID expert, will also serve in an executive role in the new division.
Meanwhile, the company has begun a search for a new chief innovation officer to replace Abadi.
