Prym Intimates, which supplies trims to the global lingerie industry, is preparing to launch new ranges aimed at specialist applications including maternity and nursing bras, and sports and fitness bras.
For the maternity market, its natural cotton hook and eye tapes are designed to meet consumer demand for comfort and hygiene. Two qualities are available: Standard for basic ranges and Extra Soft for the premium market and to provide extra comfort.
“Cotton seems to be the perfect choice of fabric during pregnancy as a cotton bra can be washed often and at high temperature to ensure maximum hygiene levels, and in addition provides a high wearer comfort due to its good breathability,” the company says.
Because most female bodies change over the course of pregnancy, Prym is also introducing new Soft-Seal bra-back extenders to give a better body fit to the wearer by allowing the under-band length of a bra to be adjusted.
For sports and fitness bras, Mesh 2 SoftSeal is a performance mesh-like fabric that helps sweat evaporate away from the body.
For year-round activities, Warm Soft-Seal addresses the needs of a sports bra during the cold period of the year and Thermo SoftSeal uses a hollow cored fibre to retain heat for insulation and help to draw moisture away from the body. Cool SoftSeal (MM), on the other hand, uses a chemical compound called Feran Ice to achieve the cooling effect.
