USA: Sears Mulls Sale Of Credit Card Business
Sears, Roebuck & Co yesterday announced plans to sell all or part of its profitable but troubled credit card business, in a move aimed at sharpening its focus on the retail side of its operation – including recently-acquired casual clothing marketer Lands' End. Chief executive officer Alan Lacy said the sale would also help streamline the organisation, and boost the stock price which hit a 21-year low of $18.25 last week.
