Fiber Industries says its expansion includes increased capacity through the restoration and modernisation of production lines, state-of-the-art control systems and increased warehouse space. The company expects to complete the expansion project in early 2023 and create over 50 new jobs.
The South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the expansion project and awarded Darlington County a US$300,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to assist with the costs. Rural Business Development Grant money is used for projects that benefit rural areas or towns outside the urban area of any city with a population of 50,000 or more.

Fiber Industries produce polyester staple fibre for high-end performance fabrics, workwear, knit goods, and the automotive industry, and currently employs more than 300 workers.
