FRANCE: Fashion Chain Camaieu Enjoys Solid 2002

Leading French fashion chain Camaieu on Thursday posted a sharp rise in full-year turnover and said it expects to report a big jump in 2002 net profit. The operator of nearly 400 stores in France and Europe said its turnover grew to $346 million in 2002 from $306m in 2001. Camaieu said it will open as many as 30 new stores this year which should boost turnover by about least 10 per cent and added it sees a sharp rise in net profit for the last 12 months from the $25m it enjoyed in 2001.
