SOUTH AFRICA: Levi Strauss To Reap AGOA Benefits
US jeans giant Levi Strauss is to begin shipping items made at its plant in Cape Town to the US in order to benefit from duty-free status under the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The company invested $10 million in the factory when it opened in 1995 and last year began production of its famous 501 brand jeans for export to leading European markets, Busines Day reported.
