The upcoming Source Fashion event, which is scheduled for 8-10 July 2025 will be held at The Grand Hall, Olympia London.

Source Fashion event director Suzanne Ellingham has outlined the theme for this season’s agenda: “Thriving in a Volatile World.”

She emphasises that while responsible sourcing and sustainability remain at the heart of the event’s focus, it is crucial to acknowledge that for many companies, these important considerations come secondary to the immediate need to survive in a challenging business climate.

Ellingham says: “Over the past eight years, we’ve seen Brexit, a global pandemic, supply chain collapses, geopolitical unrest, and soaring commodity prices. We live in an uncertain time and lets face it, volatility is now business as usual. So, we’re taking a fresh, more pragmatic approach and exploring how businesses can not only navigate this environment but succeed within it.”

The event will feature discussions on geopolitical risks and commodity pricing strategies as well as dialogues on establishing supply chains resilient to risks. By introducing this new benchmark for professional and forward-thinking content, Source Fashion seeks to address the genuine concerns faced by industry professionals.

Although predicting the future remains uncertain without a crystal ball, Ellingham notes that attendees will benefit from insights shared by individuals who have learned to manage effectively in such an unpredictable environment.

Speakers will include Hash Ladha, former CEO of Jigsaw; Jane Blacklock, head of ESG at Passenger; Bill McRaith, executive adviser at Future-Proof Fashion; and Mark Sumner, textiles lead at WRAP.

The event will commence with a panel titled ‘Beyond Transparency – Building a Culture of Accountability in Fashion’ on 8 July, with industry leaders discussing the evolution from superficial transparency to authentic accountability within companies.

Blacklock will contribute her expertise on how businesses can embed responsibility into their operations. The session aims to provide attendees with actionable insights into creating business cultures where sustainability and ethical practices are integral to success.

On the same day, McRaith will present ‘Volatility is Nothing New – But Are the Rules Changing?’ This talk will dissect the recent shifts in fashion and retail sectors due to various pressures and disruptions. McRaith plans to offer tangible advice on how companies can enhance their resilience and adaptability in this dynamic environment.

In a fireside chat on 9 July titled ‘Leading and Collaborating Through Geopolitical and Economic Upheaval,’ Ladha will impart his knowledge on leadership during times of global instability. The discussion will focus on the importance of strong leadership and strategic partnerships for organisational resilience.

As part of Source Debates, which launched last season, Sumner will prompt the fashion sector to reassess its basic principles in a debate on “If We Started All Over Again, What Would It Look Like?”

Earlier this month (May), Source Fashion announced its July 2025 edition would be taking place in The Grand Hall at Olympia London after outgrowing its existing space.
