Software firm PTC has launched a new app based on its ThingWorx Internet of Things (IoT) platform, designed to accelerate its customers’ service transformation initiatives.
The new role-based ThingWorx Asset Advisor for service app is fast to deploy and is designed for service managers and technicians, enabling remote monitoring and servicing of assets deployed in the field.

Built on PTC’s ThingWorx platform, a purpose-built industrial IoT platform that includes technologies and tools that enable companies to rapidly develop, deploy and extend apps and augmented reality experiences, the app follows PTC’s launch of the ThingWorx Asset Advisor app for manufacturing earlier this year and continues the firm’s commitment to helping industrial companies simplify their digital transformation efforts.
“The capabilities enabled through ThingWorx technology will help us deliver the machine uptime required by our customers in production environments,” says Antonio Lopez, vice president, global customer services, 3D Systems.
In May, PTC launched a selection of new manufacturing apps based on its IoT platform, designed to boost operational performance and simplify digital transformation.
