Mango has partnered with one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, Vodafone Group, to roll out digital fitting rooms – featuring smart mirrors – to the Spanish fashion chain’s top stores worldwide.

The new digital fitting room is centred around a new Internet of Things (IoT) digital mirror that has been designed by Mango and developed by Vodafone in collaboration with Jogotech, which aims to improve business processes through technology-based innovation.

According to the companies, the mirror allows shoppers to scan clothes tags in the fitting room and then contact shop floor staff directly via a digital watch, to request different sizes or colours. The mirror will also suggest additional clothes to complement the original choice.

Mango’s aim is to extend the digital fitting room to its top stores, from Barcelona to New York to help blend the online and real world shopping experiences for customers.

The move is the first phase of a digital transformation project for Mango to create new ways for customers to engage and relate to the brand.

“We see the future of retailing as a blend of the online and the offline,” explains Mango’s chief client officer Guillermo Corominas. “These new fitting rooms are another step in the digital transformation of our stores to create a whole new experience for our customers.”
