Italian knitter Eurojersey has launched a collection of graphene-based fabrics that offer thermal regulation and bacteriostatic effects for enhanced comfort and sporting performance.
The textiles, to be marketed under its Sensitive Fabrics brand, feature Graphene Plus (G+) technology from Directa Plus. Clothing that incorporates graphene, an innovative nanotech material derived from graphite, is said to significantly improve performance for athletes, professionals and sports enthusiasts.

The new fabrics were unveiled at ISPO 2018 – the sport and sportswear trade fair held in Munich. The collection of high quality, warp-knit technical fabrics are designed for high performance targeting the sportswear, athleisure and underwear sectors.
Directa Plus and Eurojersey have been collaborating over the last year to develop the product samples. A selection of Sensitive Fabrics enhanced by G+ will also be introduced to the fashion industry at the Première Vision Paris conference and exhibition on 13-15 February.
Directa Plus says it is receiving increasing interest in G+ from the textiles industry due to its ability to sustainably produce a high-performance fabric that is independently certified as non-toxic, non-cytotoxic and hypoallergenic for human skin. Its patented process enables Directa Plus to manufacture its graphene-based products in a sufficient quantity, at a consistent quality and at a commercial price point.
The inclusion of G+ in textiles provides a technologically-advanced fabric with thermal features that allow the distribution of the heat produced by the human body in cold weather and a heat dispersion effect in hot weather.

By GlobalDataG+ also provides the fabric with a bacteriostatic effect that enhances hygiene and anti-odour features, which is particularly relevant for sportswear and garments that are in contact with the body. The result is enhanced comfort for the wearer.
The company’s Graphene Plus (G+) has also launched in a line by high-end sports and activewear firm Colmar which is now in its third winter range. The new collection has been expanded to include 31 garments incorporating G+, including men’s and women’s ski jackets and, for the first time, graphene-enhanced ski trousers. Last year’s collection included the Technologic G+ ski jacket, which received the Gold award in the ‘Ski’ category at ISPO 2017, as well as spring/summer garments.
