Luxury men’s apparel brand Stone Island is among three new companies to have committed to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) group.

Part of Sportswear Company SpA, designer brand Stone Island Stone Island has joined the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme as a Signatory Brand, alongside Atlas Exports Enterprises (Atlas Group of Companies), a global home textile producer.

Meanwhile, Asia Dyestuff Industry Federation (ADIF) has joined as a Value Chain Affiliate. ADIF is the representation of dyestuff associations and manufacturers in the Asia region, which accounts for 80% of the dyestuff production capacity worldwide. ADIF aims to promote exchange, cooperation and wants to strengthen international communication amongst its members.

The ZDHC group is working to steer the industry towards a goal of reducing the discharge of harmful chemicals to zero by 2020, with signatory brands including Adidas, Benetton, C&A, Gap Inc, H&M and Inditex. 

With the additional organisations, the total number of Contributors committed to driving the industry towards zero discharge of hazardous chemicals is now 126.
