USA: Jones Apparel Enjoys Solid Q2 Growth
Clothing giant and chain Jones Apparel Group Inc on Wednesday posted better-than-expected second quarter results and raised its full-year earnings forecast on solid sales of most of its apparel businesses.
The New York-based company, whose brands include Jones New York, Nine West and lel jeans, said in a statement net income for the quarter jumped to $66.5 million, or 49 cents per share, from $55.4m, or 43 cents per share, in 2001.
