JAPAN: T-Shirt Sales Boost Levi Strauss Unit
The Japanese unit of US jeans giant Levi Strauss & Co, Levi Strauss Japan KK, has posted a 0.9 per cent rise in first half turnover to $93.5 million amid increased demand for its jeans and a surge in T-shirt sales. The Tokyo-based company said T-shirt sales soared 43.8 per cent year-on-year in the six months to May 31 and added it expects to post a $13.6m profit in the second half on turnover of around $194m.
