Notably, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers jobs accounted for a 37% share of the global apparel industry’s cloud-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, down 30% over the prior quarter.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers, with a share of 37%, emerged as the top cloud-related job roles within the apparel industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 30% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Information Systems Managers came in second with a share of 7% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 33% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent cloud roles include Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a 4% share in Q3 2022, Financial Analysts and Advisors with a 2% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in apparel industry accounted for 29% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Amazon.com, Walmart, NIKE and Alibaba Group Holding. Together they accounted for a combined share of 29% of all cloud-related active jobs in the apparel industry.

Amazon.com posted 3,817 cloud-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Walmart 624 jobs, NIKE 336 jobs, and Alibaba Group Holding 232 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 55% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of cloud-related new job postings in the apparel industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 55% followed by India (10%) and Germany (5%). The share represented by the US was six percentage points lower than the 61% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
