German sportswear giant Adidas has unveiled what it claims is the “first of its kind sports bra” created with the company’s Primeknit knitting technology for targeted flexibility, comfort and support.
The ‘Don’t Rest Primeknit LUX’ bra was co-created with Adidas’s global network of female athletes, and follows years of research by the firm’s Advanced Concepts team studying the female body in motion to fine-tune the exact amount of flexibility and support required.
The resulting bra has been created with a soft and absorbent nylon yarn that provides comfort and cooling, while the design and engineered unpadded compression delivers stretch, strain and bounce management for a locked-in feel that does not restrict.
“Women are no longer willing to sacrifice comfort and support during performance, and they shouldn’t have to. What makes the Don’t Rest Primeknit LUX bra unique is that we built the infrastructure of the bra from the inside out, based on insights from our female athletes around needing support and comfort in equal measure,” explains Clair Wallace, design director of Advanced Concepts and global brands at Adidas.
“The knit construction of Primeknit allows the bra to mirror every movement, enabling female athletes to train without any distractions.”
In addition to the bra, Adidas has also launched the new Believe This Primeknit LUX Tight, also developed with same Primeknit technology.

Adidas unveiled its seamless Primeknit engineering technology back in 2012, digitally knitting an entire shoe upper in just one piece using fused yarns to fine-tune the exact amount of flexibility and support. The process also uses fewer materials to produce less waste.
