Swiss colour and speciality chemicals maker Archroma has developed what it claims is the first ‘Color Atlas’ for polyester.
The colour library brings together 1,440 colours for sportswear and athleisure, swimwear, children’s clothing, shoes, as well as for fashion and home textiles.
Composed of two volumes, the ‘Color Atlas by Archroma’ allows the user to quickly browse all colours, allowing for the faster creation of mood boards and palettes. Also available online, the Atlas makes it possible to search for the exact colour of an object or garment using a photo using its ‘color on the go’ search tool. A click on each colour also lets the user know its environmental impact.
Within the Atlas, the shades for polyester are characterised by their resistance to washing, so they can be easily used for the design and production of sportswear fabrics and articles, and the achievability and reproducibility in global production supply chains.
The Atlas complies with the main ecological standards, such as Bluesign, Oeko Tex or ZDHC, as well as the specifications of major brands.
