AUSTRALIA: Protesters Target Sussan Over Labour Rights

Outworkers and unionists will protest on February 8 2001 over the refusal of Sussan, one of Australia’s largest retailers and property owners to observe a code of practice for clothing workers. Julia Murray, New South Wales organiser for the Fair Wear campaign, said the demonstration is timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the New South Wales Government's pre-election promise to prevent the exploitation of women and children in the textile, clothing and footwear industries.
