Pioneering innovations aimed at engaging customers in the circular economy could be set to hit the market after circularity initiative The Launch announced the finalists for its annual innovators challenge.
The nine finalists for the Circular Innovation Challenge will each receive financial support as they look to bring to market an array of sustainable technologies. The selected innovators and organisations will meet at a forum this week in Bentonville, Arkansas, with two preceding innovator preparation days that will be jointly hosted by Waste Management and Walmart.

The Launch Partners and the team have selected this year’s innovators following an extensive review conducted by more than 35 professional experts from research organisations, government institutions, and global companies.
The innovations to have reached the final include a mobile transparency app for the consumer and a platform for producers, a waste recycling and social benefit venture, a universal consumer buy-back programme, and a pioneering polymer recycling technology to eradicate textiles waste and to enable circularity for the global textiles industry.
At the forum, the innovators will present and discuss their solution and Call to Action with around 35 industry executives, experts, government officials, and investors. These include representatives from VF Corp, Walmart, Sympatex and Ikea.
They will offer expertise, mentorship, and guidance to the innovators, access to market partners, and facilitate opportunities for investment. Following the Forum, Innovators will have an accelerator programme with commitments that will help them bring their innovations to scale.
