US textile major Cone Denim has unveiled a capsule collection of denims made with 100% organically grown cotton.

Part of Cone’s Sustainblue offerings, the cotton used in the Organic Cotton Capsule collection is organically grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilisers, and grown using methods and materials that have a lower impact on the environment.

In addition, the Organic Cotton fabrics have been awarded the Organic Cotton Standard (OCS) certification by Ecocert Greenlife SAS, signifying that Cone Denim meets the required standards for materials and production
processes.

“This collection features true denim heritage meets sustainability,” says Pierette Scavuzzo, director of product design for Cone Denim. “We are excited to launch these fabrics as part of Cone Denim’s latest Modern Retro capsule, building sustainable components in our most authentic expressions as we continue our commitment to furthering sustainability.”

Cone Denim debuted the Organic collection last week at Kingpins Amsterdam. Special sample garments were designed using 100% organic cotton denim, bio-degradable trim, wooden buttons and cotton sewing thread.
