Copenhagen Fashion Summit has been pushed back to October following the growing public health concerns around the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
One of the world’s leading business forums for sustainability in fashion, Copenhagen Fashion Summit is organised by Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), a non-profit leadership forum that wants to change the way fashion is produced, marketed and consumed.
The 2020 Summit, which was due to take place on 27-28 May, will now be held on 12-13 October. The event will continue to take place at Copenhagen Concert Hall.
In a statement posted to both its own website and that of the Summit, GFA said: “While this was certainly a difficult decision, we believe it is the only responsible and sensible thing to do, taking the global health uncertainties and authority recommendations into consideration.
“The health and safety of everyone on our team, including the numerous participants who come from across the globe to Copenhagen each May to convene and advance sustainability in fashion, is our first priority.”
CEO of Global Fashion Agenda, Eva Kruse, added: “This is a precarious situation, rife with numerous challenges, but I’m confident that together we can remain positive even in the face of such uncertainty.

The news comes as Shoptalk, a retail and e-commerce event held in Las Vegas, has also been rescheduled this week.
In a post on the event’s website yesterday (5 March), organisers said: “Following the rapid escalation of the Covid-19 outbreak around the world and in the United States, Shoptalk has been rescheduled to 14-17 September, 2020. The event will continue to take place at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.”
Meanwhile, denim trade show Kingpins has also recently cancelled its upcoming Hong Kong show on the back of health concerns and travel restrictions surrounding the coronavirus outbreak. Kingpins Hong Kong had been set for 13-14 May 2020 and will now take place in May 2021 instead.
