CottonWorks, a textile programme run by Cotton Incorporated, has launched a range of 3D fabric files for download that it says will take garment design to the next level.

Cotton-rich fabrics from CottonWork’s Fabricast library will now be accompanied by 3D digital files suitable for use in CLO and Browzwear solutions that users can download.

While the current collection is limited to a curated selection of 3D materials, more downloadable files are expected to be available soon.

“Leading brands are evolving their supply chains to incorporate digital tools, and a new future is being paved for the apparel and textile industry through the emergence of 3D simulation technology,” says CottonWorks. “As a leader in product innovation to advance the use of cotton in textile products, Cotton Incorporated is continuing to make strides in the future of textiles through the digitisation of cotton fabrics.”

CottonWorks says new 3D fabrics for designers and developers are leading to improved virtual design and faster prototyping.
