Colour and speciality chemicals company Archroma has tripled the production of its aniline-free Denisol Pure Indigo 30 liquid on the back of greater demand.
Since May 2018 the Swiss company has been producing the Denisol Pure Indigo 30 product out of a zero discharge plant in Pakistan.
A spokesperson for the company told just-style that in the first three months of the product’s manufacture, the company had to “triple the planned production” of the liquid from its manufacturing facility in Jamshoro due to market demand for a more environmentally responsible product.
Archroma’s Denisol Pure Indigo 30 liquid dye was first launched in May 2018 as a non-toxic way to produce the traditional, iconic indigo blue that consumers associate with denim and jeans. The toxic chemical aniline is beginning to feature on the restricted substance lists (RSL) of some major clothing brands and retailers – and the new dye contains aniline that is “below limits of detection.”
The firm modified its facility in October to allow the increased output of the liquid and now plans to dedicate 100% of its indigo production in Jamshoro to Denisol Pure Indigo 30.
“We foresee that at the end of the third quarter of 2019, 100% of our pre-reduced indigo production in Jamshoro will be dedicated to the production of aniline-free Denisol Pure Indigo 30,” the company spokesperson said.

We owe the successful launch of Denisol Pure Indigo to the shared vision of the textile value chain to preserve our planet and its people, after all – it’s our nature.”
At the end of last year, Thailand’s Absolute Denim said it is to become the first denim manufacturer to convert 100% of its production to Archroma’s Denisol Pure Indigo 30 liquid dye.
