The technology leverages digital reskinning, FIA’s designed process that enables the application of virtual garments, complete with realistic physics and textures, onto captured human movements.

The outcome is realistic fashion content that demonstrates natural and expressive motion, opening opportunities for digital marketing campaigns and virtual fashion shows.

Utilising high-resolution 3D full-body motion capture and AI mesh stabilisation, the service provided by FIA generates accurate digital doubles, which can be restyled and reimagined multiple times.

With digital reskinning, a single performance capture can be repurposed to showcase an entire fashion line, thus enabling brands to weave intricate narratives while simultaneously reducing the reliance on physical prototypes and their associated expenses.

FIA head Matthew Drinkwater said: “Until now, there has been no clear or consistent pipeline for designers to access this level of digital reskinning. What we’ve built changes that. We have been able to achieve the highest standard of 3D volumetric capture currently available; it’s remarkably lifelike and ready for real-world use. For the first time, designers and brands can harness this technology in a way that’s intuitive and scalable.”

FIA’s service can be implemented in various sectors including fashion, gaming, film, and immersive entertainment. It helps in conceptualisation of campaigns and offering virtual try-on experiences for consumers.
