Luxury goods business Hermès posted a robust rise in first-half profit, boosted by a 22.8% revenue hike and double-digit sales rises across the board.
Asia outside Japan led the way with a sales surge of 45% in the six months to 30 June, while the Americas were up 26% and Europe rose 17%.
New women’s silk collections helped silk and textiles sales to increase 17%, while accessories buoyed the performance of ready-to-wear and fashion accessories, up 18% overall.
Hermès said wholesale revenues had resumed growth in the period, but warned that it would come up against tougher comparisons in the second half of 2010.
