To drive the increased focus on digitisation, a new role of chief strategy and digital officer has been created and filled by Karsten Newbury who previously served as the SVP and general manager for software. In his new role, Newbury will be responsible for driving Gerber’s company-wide digital transformation. He will lead teams to address major customer-driven initiatives, including Gerber’s new subscription-based offering (SaaS), IoT enabled devices, the digital micro-factory concept and other integrated hardware and software initiatives.
Ken Litman has also joined the Gerber team as the new vice president of information technology. Litman was the senior director of IT at Manroland Goss Web Systems. Adding 25 years of IT experience and expertise, he will continue to drive innovation through a number of digital projects. In his previous role, Litman was responsible for several applications and infrastructure improvements.
Gerber says the changes will help solidify the company as an innovative integrated technology and services provider.
“Speed and agility have become crucial to success,” says Mohit Uberoi, CEO of Gerber Technology. “In all the industry sectors we support, technology has become a key enabler in realising the promise of Industry 4.0. Digital integration, automation, and sustainability are all within reach. The changes in our leadership team will enable us to sharpen our focus and innovation and agility to support our customers.”
