GERMANY: Adidas-Salomon Meets 2001 Targets
Sales and net earnings at Adidas-Salomon came in on target in 2001, but the German sportswear and equipment maker may find it difficult to stage a repeat performance in 2002. Adidas, the second biggest sportswear firm by sales after US giant Nike, said sales rose five per cent to 6.1 billion euros ($5.3 billion), and net income rose 15 per cent to 208 million euros, or 4.60 euros per share, meeting market expectations.
