- Turkey has said it might consider implementing anti-dumping duties on US cotton imports as a result of them damaging domestic output, following a year-long review. The world’s number three grower of the natural fibre is invited, alongside the US, to comment by 24 February, after which a final report will be drawn up and a committee will then decide whether to impose anti-dumping tariffs. - Indian textile and clothing group Raymond has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra State Government, at a ‘Make In India’ event held on 13 February. The MoU will see textile manufacturing facilities set up on 500 acres of land in Amravati. INDIA INFO LINE
- The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is to help textile enterprises of Armenia register common export clothing brand 5900 B.V. An apparel collection has been prepared under the guidance of designers from Italy and will be presented at foreign exhibitions. - The Turkish textile and clothing sector, which experienced problems following Russia’s economic sanctions, has been preparing for roadshows in March to access African and Iranian markets.
