  • The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA) has urged the central and state governments to frame a comprehensive textile policy to address the issues concerning the sector and boost growth.   • A delegation from the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprizes Industry (CASMEI) are to set up a textile industrial park in the Gujarat state. Talks are under way with the government in acquiring land as well as other permissions and facilities for the industrial park. INDIA TV.
  • The Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association (PYMA) has rejected a budgetary increase in sales tax on yarn and cloth, calling it anti-trade and a drone attack on the yarn and cloth business. The Budget increase was to 3% and 5% respectively, from 2% and 3% previously. BUSINESS RECORDER.
  • India is to sign a free trade agreement with Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to boost trade and economic ties with the region. The agreement is expected to be signed at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum taking place this week. TIMES OF INDIA.
