- Some 30 garment workers were injured when leaving the Next Collection factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh earlier this month, after being panicked by news that a fire had broken out. - Around 39 children aged between 10 and 15 were rescued from leather tanning units in South Mumbai in two separate raids. In one factory, 34 children were made to cut leather, sew and punch leather jackets, purses and belts, while five were found working in another. THE TIMES OF INDIA
- A fire broke out at South Korean-owned sport shoe maker Samho Vietnam Co last week, with hundreds of workers needing to be evacuated. The cause of the blaze is being investigated. Samho Vietnam produces sports shoes for export and employs more than 10,000 people. TUOI TRE NEWS
