UK department store retailer Harvey Nichols has confirmed to just-style its group fashion buying director, Anita Barr, has left the business.

Barr, who has served in the role since March 2014, departed at the end of last month, according to Harvey Nichols, which said it is actively searching for her successor.

“We can confirm Anita Barr left Harvey Nichols on 31 January to pursue new career opportunities,” a Harvey Nichols spokeswoman told just-style today (20 February). “We are currently recruiting for a replacement, which will be announced in due course.”

Prior to her tenure at Harvey Nichols, Barr served as global product director for six months at fashion retailer AllSaints. She also spent ten years in various senior roles at upscale department store Selfridges following a six-year tenure at luxury department store Harrods where she rose through the ranks to a buyer after joining the company as a sales associate in 1992.
