Swiss specialty textile chemistry company HeiQ has added a new fluorine-free water repellent product to its HeiQ Eco Dry line, this time targeting footwear materials.

Used by more than 50 brands worldwide, HeiQ Eco Dry is a series of eco-friendly and PFC-free water repellent textile technologies. After adding the HeiQ DuPont Eco-LED finish for leather on footwear to the range last year, the firm has now developed HeiQ Eco Dry FW for non-leather materials.

The new solution, which is Oeko-Tex certified and Bluesign pending, is suitable for wool, polyamide and their blends, according to HeiQ. It does not compromise on breathability and is fluorine-free, the company adds.

“Summer just started. And in many countries it also means the start of rainy season,” says Hoi Kwan Lam, chief marketing officer at HeiQ. “We work with over 150 brands all over the world on a daily basis and what we see is the unstoppable growth in their craving for innovative, sustainable and effective solutions.”

At the recent Texprocess and Techtextil trade shows in Germany, HeiQ presented XReflex, a radiant barrier technology that works to reduce heat loss – allowing the same level of warmth to be maintained with half of the insulation material.
