HKRITA’s GIB has been established in collaboration with the Pudong New Force Incubator and the Pudong-Hong Kong Institute for Technology Transfer and Innovation.
It was launched during the Innostech 2025 Shanghai-Hong Kong Seminar.
HKRITA chair Teresa Yang said: “The Green Innotextile Base leverages the strengths of the textile industry to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration across industry, academia, and research sectors. It promotes the application of smart manufacturing, seamlessly integrating advanced innovations into the textile supply chain alongside sustainable fashion principles. The GIB supports the industry in balancing environmental benefits with economic growth while enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.”
The GIB is set to roll out its operations within the Yangtze River Delta.
The platform will focus on promoting sustainable growth, engaging in circular economy projects, exploring new materials for textiles and apparel, and merging fashion with AI.
The mission is to align with the country’s environmental and innovative strategies by establishing technical norms, delivering certification services, and creating a conduit for technology transfer to hasten the integration of new technologies.

This collaboration showcases the practical use of HKRITA’s technologies and underscores Hong Kong’s commitment to innovation in sustainability across various sectors, setting the stage for more extensive development.
In March this year, HKRITA announced a series of strategic collaborations to enhance research cooperation, technology exchange, and business incubation for the textile and apparel industry.
