House of Fraser has partnered with global digital collaboration platform 2degrees in a move aimed at encouraging its suppliers to use a digital tool to more easily identify, investigate and implement resource efficiency gains across their operations.
The UK department store retailer has joined the firm’s Manufacture 2030 platform, which works to bring retailers, brands and their manufacturing suppliers together to cut costs, risks and environmental impacts through cross-industry collaboration.
The global digital collaboration platform centres around its M2030 bee tool – an online service that helps brands identify, investigate, and implement resource efficiency actions within their manufacturing operations.
As part of its strategy to cut energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission, along with preventing and reducing the consumption of resources, water, and waste generation, House of Fraser will encourage its suppliers to use the digital tool to better monitor resource efficiency gains across its operations.
“Our partnership with 2degrees and the Manufacture 2030 platform aims to drive resource efficiency and embed good environmental practice across our supply chain,” says Dr Dorothy Maxwell, head of sustainability at House of Fraser.
Martin Chilcott, founder and CEO of 2degrees, meanwhile, explains the firm is working to halve the amount of resources used in global manufacturing by 2030. To help reach this target he says learning best practice from others and engaging the whole supply chain is key to innovation and making meaningful change happen.
