Called “Twin Transition in the Apparel Supply Chain”, the initiative is backed by the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) under the 2025 Twin Transition Financial Support Programme.

İHKİB will oversee the implementation of this project, working alongside the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and involving more than 20 participating companies, as well as representatives from related institutions and global brands.

The programme intends to provide structured support to suppliers by broadening the scope of İHKİB’s Digital Transformation Center (DDM), which will now function as a Digital and Green Transformation Service Point during the project period.

Key components of the initiative include assessments to determine operational and sustainability maturity. It also involves the development of roadmaps for transformation, mentorship, advisory services, online seminars on transformation topics, and guidance on accessing finance and consultancy for firms pursuing European Union (EU) or national funding opportunities.

The programme will also establish a Twin Transition Council, engaging national and international stakeholders to ensure alignment with export-market requirements and contribute to wider sectoral transformation strategies.

The roadmap covers ten primary activities and will conclude with an international conference under the title “Türkiye in the Twin Transition of the Apparel Supply Chain”.

The official launch took place at İHKİB’s headquarters in Istanbul.

İHKİB vice president Mustafa Paşahan said: “Türkiye’s apparel sector has long been a strategic pillar of our export economy. With this project, we aim to strengthen the industry’s existing advantages by accelerating both green and digital transformation, and to build a sustainable, long-term capability base for our supply chain.”

In September last year, İHKİB secured €37m ($43.48m) in grant funding from the EU to drive the twin transition in the Turkish fashion sector.
