The integration is part of the company’s broader strategy initiated in 2022 to internationalise its business and consolidate regional businesses.
With this move, the company expects to expedite its growth in the European region by “strengthening coherence, performance, and resilience of its network”.
Intersport International Corporation CEO Tom Foley said: “The integration of Intersport Spain into Intersport France is a concrete example of our international expansion and regional consolidation strategy. It demonstrates the ability of our national organisations to pool expertise, reinforce synergies, and ensure operational continuity in a spirit of sustainable growth.”
This initiative follows a similar consolidation between Sweden and Denmark earlier this year and is expected to create a Southern European hub that includes France, Belgium, Spain, and Portugal.
