The upcoming New York edition of denim trade show Kingpins is set to focus on sustainable development and heritage.
The show, which takes place on 12-13 June at Pier 36 in New York City, will see organisers focus on promoting and supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Kingpins is committed to pushing the denim industry toward a better future,” says Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show and Kingpins Transformers. “We believe in the Sustainable Development Goals and their ability to work as a roadmap for reducing denim’s impact on the environment and providing clear direction in the realms of social responsibility, innovation and inequality.”
The show will feature a Conscious Fashion Campaign, an initiative supported by the UN Office for Partnerships, which champions fashion brands who put impact at the forefront of their businesses to achieve the SDGs.
There will also be a panel session designed to act as “a powerful crash course” on the SDGs, with speakers from the International Labour Organization, Conscious Fashion Campaign, and Empower Women.
In addition, the show will feature the Kingpins Trend F/W 2020 Garment Installation, Kingpins Bazaar and Kingpins Shop.
