The ‘Make it British Live!’ sourcing show that showcases British fashion and textile manufacturers and producers, returns to London next month with organisers hailing the edition as bigger and more diverse than previous years.

Registration numbers are already triple those of this time last year, according to Make it British – originally known as  Meet the Manufacturer – with visitors expected to travel from as far afield as Dubai, Canada, and China.

The show has grown from 50 to over 200 exhibitors in the last six years, with visitor numbers topping 5,000 last year, representing at least 17 different countries between them. This year’s exhibitors will also highlight more diversity than previous years, with exhibitors including Welsh woollen mill Melin Tregwynt.

“Our vision at the start was to encourage more people to buy British and make in the UK,” Kate Hills, founder of Make it British explains. “Since we launched in 2014 we’ve brought together thousands of UK designers, manufacturers and buyers to inspire and guide businesses in their journey to support British craftsmanship and ‘brand British'”.

The event will take place on 29 and 30 May. Originally taking place at the Old Truman Brewery, the new home for Make it British Live! is the Business Design Centre in Islington.
