Women’s online fashion and accessory retailer ModCloth, which was acquired by Walmart last year, has named former Bonobo’s finance chief Antonio Nieves as its new CEO.
Nieves, who makes a return to ModCloth having previously served as chief financial officer at the retailer, has been overseeing finance, technology, analytics, planning and retail operations at online menswear retailer Bonobos as chief operating officer and CFO since September 2016.
Bonobos was also recently acquired by Walmart in a deal worth US$310m as part of a broader strategy being undertaken by the US retail giant to beef up its e-commerce footprint against Amazon.

The move came some three months after the ModCloth acquisition, the cost of which Walmart did not disclose. The retail giant did, however, say ModCloth would continue to operate as a stand-alone and complementary brand to its other e-commerce sites.
Headquartered in San Francisco, ModCloth offers clothing and accessories from independent designers and national brands, as well as private label apparel.
