Fashion design software developer Optitex has been acquired by FOG Software Group (FOG), a division of Constellation Software for an undisclosed sum.
Under the just-announced deal, Optitex – whose 2D design and 3D visualisation platforms cover the entire fashion and apparel supply chain – will operate as an independent company within FOG.
“This acquisition provides significant added-value to Optitex, its customers and partners. While retaining independence of business operations, we reinforce our strong commitment to innovative product development,” said CEO Amir Lehr. “This investment also shows a tremendous vote of confidence in both our team, and our technology, particularly in these challenging times. Optitex expects to achieve lasting business stability supported by Constellation’s long-term vision, and further benefit from Constellation’s financial support, networking opportunities and well-honed management best practices.”
Deerfield, Illinois-based FOG Software Group is a division of Toronto-based Vela Software and Constellation Software. The companies acquire, manage, and build software companies in a variety of vertical markets.
Optitex was acquired by digital printing specialist Electronics For Imaging (EFI) back in 2016. EFI was in turn acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm Siris Capital Group for about US$1.7bn in July last year.
