Acquisition of European laboratories:
The company has acquired three European laboratories, namely Agroisolab in Germany, Advanced Isotopic Analysis (AiA) in France, and Imprint Analytics in Austria. The financial terms of the acquisitions were not revealed.
These facilities now operate alongside Oritain’s founding laboratory, Isotrace, located in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Agroisolab focuses on agricultural and timber traceability, while AiA specialises in non-traditional isotope analysis, including applications in the extractives and agrifood sectors, such as wine and tea, as well as environmental studies.
Imprint Analytics focuses on authenticating the origins of materials like cotton, food products, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals through advanced isotopic and related scientific techniques.

By GlobalDataRepresentatives from each laboratory have joined Oritain’s newly formed technical advisory committee.
Oritain expects these acquisitions to increase its footprint, enhance its analytical capacity, and enable faster access to verification programmes for customers globally.
The phased acquisitions follow Oritain’s recent launch of leather and timber verification services, including a partnership with World Forest ID to address the need for scientific verification of forest-based commodities, supporting compliance with regulations such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Oritain’s new membership model
Alongside its laboratory expansion, Oritain has introduced a membership model designed for brands, manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers focusing on traceability.
This programme provides each member with a customised verification plan that covers material checks from raw inputs through to finished products.
Members submit samples that are then tracked and analysed according to Oritain’s forensic procedures. Results are delivered in real-time via a secure digital portal.
“We created Membership to turn results into action — empowering better decisions, supporting stronger supplier relationships, and enabling our customers to provide clear evidence of compliance and responsible sourcing for regulators, customers, and investors,” Franklin added.
To coincide with its expansion activities and new programmes, Oritain has unveiled an updated brand identity that includes a redesigned website.
