The Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) is to open overseas export offices in the US and UK after securing a government subsidy of PKR200m (US$2.3m).
The funding has been approved by the country’s Ministry of Commerce from the Export Development Fund (EDF). The export houses will serve as marketing points to promote knitwear garment exports to the US and the EU.
Similar offices have already been established in other major export markets, including New York, Brussels and China, which were also funded from the EDF.
