The transformation of the global apparel and textiles industry and its journey into a new era will be a key focus at next year’s Prime Source Forum event in Hong Kong.
Taking place from 8-9 March 2018, the 13th edition of the sourcing conference will see an update from Dr Arkebe Oqubay from the Ministry of Ethiopia on the latest developments in the country’s textile and garment industry.
An official from Myanmar will also speak to delegates about the controversy of the Rohingya minority and the country’s new policies on Free-on-Board (FOB) production.
The second ‘Fashion Transformer’ event will also take place, looking at how the apparel industry is moving into the next era with topics ranging from Industry 4.0 and mass customisation to supply chain innovation and robotic automation.
Already confirmed are presentations on gauging global business dynamics in the wake of political and socio-economic uncertainties; the impacts of China’s stringent environmental initiatives on fashion importers; the challenges and opportunities of the Belt & Road initiative in the fashion supply chain; and opportunities in Myanmar, amongst others.
The Award Ceremony of the 3rd World Fashion Design Competition will also take place, displaying the competence of ODM producers in design manufacturing. The competition offers participants direct opportunities to communicate with senior executives of buying offices attending PSF2018.
