Pure Origin, a new sourcing platform launching at this year’s Pure London fashion trade show, will include a curated fabric pavillion featuring premium fabric suppliers displaying their latest collections and demonstrating customisation capabilities.

Taking place from 11-12 February at London’s Olympia, the event is being run as part of established luxury fashion fabric fair Textile Forum. The show links manufacturers, fabric suppliers, designers, brands and retailers.

“Sourcing the right fabric, in terms of colour, design and price, is key to the success of a designer’s collection and more and more are looking for unique cloths to help create the differentiation from competitors,” says Linda Laderman, co-founder of Textile Forum. “Investment in new technology, such as digital printing for instance, means designers do not necessarily have to commit to huge volume orders to get the exclusivity they want. Additionally, a growing percentage now have transactional websites so that buyers can purchase fabric online, often for next day delivery.”

Held alongside Pure Man, the trade show will also host three-days of seminars including a focus on driving progress in the circular fashion economy, exploring sourcing best practice, how to achieve transparency on a global scale, and how to build a compliant and sustainable supply chain. Speakers will join the show from WRAP, Kurt Salmon, Sourcing Sustainably, and Sedex Global, amongst others.

“As brands and retailers work harder and faster to create an innovative and unique offer for their customers, the growth in personalisation is set to continue at a pace,” says Julie Driscoll, managing director at Pure London. “We are delighted to link with Textile Forum and offer our Pure Origin visitors, including heads of sourcing and buying, technical directors and supply chain managers, the opportunity to meet leading fabric suppliers and discuss their requirements face-to-face.”

Visitors to the Textile Forum pavilion will see collections including silks, printed cottons, corduroys, linen mixes, imitation furs and natural leathers being shown by James Hare, Pongees, Anbo Textiles, G H Leathers and Bernstein & Banleys, plus information on the 100-plus collections from the UK, Continental Europe and further afield.
