RUSSIA: Sales At Fur Auction Jump 30 Per Cent
Visitors to this year's annual fur auction in St Petersburg spent around $9 million - about 30 per cent more than last year - with buyers flocking from all over the world, organisers said on Monday.
Vitaliy Chepurnoi, first deputy general director of the state fur trading and producing company Souzpushnina, told Prime-TASS that 110,000 sable pelts, 100,000 mink pelts, 15,000 fox pelts and 500,000 squirrel, ermine and lynx pelts farms were offered.
