SCOTLAND: Brave New Look For Scottish Weavers
Native American tribesmen have turned to a small Scottish weaving company to kit them out in traditional clothing, the Express on Sunday reported. Time was running out when elders from the Shoshone and Cherokee nations appealed to specialist weavers Creagaran Scotland Ltd in Galashiels. The cloth of the tribes' existing garments was wearing out and the tribes could not find an American company to produce the heavy woollen fabric that is used to make ceremonial clothes worn on holidays and feast days.
