Product development and production management platform SupplyCompass has unveiled a suite of guides aimed at helping brands and manufacturers navigate sustainable production.
The Certifications Guide is a round-up of the top industry supply chain certifications and standards including leading audits Bluesign, Fairwear Foundation, Global Organic Textile Standard, Fairtrade, and Cradle to Cradle, among a number of others. The certifications represent different parts of ethical, sustainable and transparent fashion manufacturing that include fair labour practices and social concerns including animal welfare and environmental impact.
SupplyCompass says certifications are key in the fight against greenwashing and in allowing for greater transparency by ensuring materials, factories and traders are audited by a third party. They also help to raise awareness of sustainable practices in the industry.
Alongside the Certifications Guide, SupplyCompass has published five Sustainable Materials Guides on leather, polyester, cotton, viscose, and leather alternatives.
